“While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account.”
Ouch!! That hurts.
In fact, the no. of people receiving this dreaded letter is on the rise in the recent months. In most forums, there is a never ending discussion on why ‘my Google Adsense account is disabled‘, how to get it reinstated, and whatnot.
Are you experiencing the wrath of Google? Got your account disabled recently because, according to the email, it “has posed a significant risk to our Adwords advertisers?”
And you wondered why?
Here’s an on-going discussion of the top 30 reasons why your account is disabled. Are you guilty of any of those? Or you think the Big G with its “No evil” philosophy has done you an injustice?
“But it’s not my fault” I hear the usual denial.
Google doesn’t have to have a reason to ban you. And as much as you would like them to prove you did something wrong. They don’t have to do that either. While you’re given the option to appeal, it’s very unlikely that your account will ever be reinstated.
Go ahead and write your appeal. Your chances of reinstatement are slim to none.
Well, don’t cry over spoilt milk. It’s pointless. It’s pretty much final. But it isn’t the end of the world, given the fact that there are many other Google AdSense alternatives.
Sure, monetizing a blog with Adsense is by far the most popular choice for many – newbies or even seasoned bloggers. No doubt about it. As Google is controlling more than 75% of all search queries on the net, Adsense is still the best and most profitable CPC network if you know what you’re doing.
But when you lost it, it is really (I mean really real) tough to get back into the door as a Publisher but not impossible!*

So what are the alternatives to Google Adsense?
John from One Man’s Blog who made a decent income from Adsense shares the 8 best ways to earn money from Google Adsense alternatives that should give you a wide variety of alternatives to choose from.
If you want a simpler way to monetize your sites, try Query Ads. It claims to pay a minimum of .10 cent per click via paypal (with min. payout of $50). If you have a high quality site, with regular content updates, you can make money by displaying ads customized to match the content on your pages the way Adsense does.
Don’t be afraid of CPA too! If run properly, CPA campaigns can generate substantial income that could easily rival Google Adsense. Keep in mind that it’s not easy to accepted into CPA network as most networks are very selective of their publishers.
If you want to try CPA, two networks come to mind – Prosperent & CPALead. Both are great for either gray or white hat methods of monetizing search traffic. More importantly, approval is almost instant.
There you go. Possibly the best 10 Adsense alternatives for you to consider if your Adsense account were disabled by Google for all the wrong reasons or you want diversify for all the right reasons.
If you are a still Publisher, here’s the parting message. Don’t cross Google the wrong way. Don’t even try to outsmart it. It isn’t just worth it, especially if it’s your bread and butter. Best still, diversify. You can still make money without doing evil.

You know Yan, over the last six months AdSense has grown to my second largest income stream. Loosing it is something that I think of a lot. It’s nice to see alternatives but I hope I don’t have to use them. On my niche sites I’ve been sure to use only unique content and little things like adding an image with each post.
I may try a couple of the resources you mentioned now. That way, I can already have my foot in the door should the need ever arise. It doesn’t hurt to have multiple sources of revenue anyway. In fact, we’d be crazy not to.
Firstly, dupe content isn’t something I worry about. Google won’t penalize you. It’s a myth. What my competitors (in high paying niches) are capable of doing is something I want to be prepared of.
Yes, losing it isn’t fun. Be prepared! Get another one while you can. It’s doable if you know the way.
Anyway, I put up the banner you requested (with your affiliate link) and took the initiative to create a 468×60 banner to better fit into the article. Hope you don’t mind! Let me know how it goes.
Yan
Thanks Yan, check your email for PP. I think you need to accept it.
I’m afraid I did not receive it, Brian. Don’t worry about it. It’s free but please do let me know how it goes.
Yan
Hi Yan,
Great to see your comment on my blog. I appreciate it.
Sorry about the ban. I hope it did not cut off too much revenue?
Why did you say Google does not penalize dupe content?
I use adsense too but i’m trying to get more search engine traffic. I’d check the options you blogged about.
Thanks bro and let’s be in touch.
Nope, my account is fine. This article isn’t about my adsense account disabled. It is merely sharing some of the adsense alternatives. Anyway. this is one of the recent top ‘search queries‘ . Go figure if you’re trying to get more search engine traffic…. ;)
And with regard to dupe contents, Google will just ignore it. In laymen term, it’s relatively harder to rank in Google with a dupe content but that depends on how competitive the niche is.
Thanks for dropping by, too.
Yan
Adsense isn’t a huge money maker for me (about $100/mth) so losing it wouldn’t be that big a loss, but it is funny how many people are stressing that they might get disabled.
Personally I don’t even think about it because I know I am not doing anything wrong. The people who worry are usually the people doing things that they shouldn’t – and are worried the ‘big G’ will realise it.
Hope you start ranking well for the keyword :P
I’m surprised it isn’t. Time to scale it up, mate! And when you’re into $100/day, I bet you’ll start to think ’bout it.
Thanks for stopping by.
Yan
In terms of ad relevancy, it is difficult to beat Google AdSense.
This is why you should have more ways to monetize your blog then just Adsense, CPA Aff sales, etc..
My account was closed and wasn’t able to open it.. so I went to Chikita ads which works just like Adsense..
Absolutely true. Diversification is the way to go. If you need assistance with your adsense account, drop me an email, John. I’ll probably have a way for you to get back into the program.
Cheers,
Yan
Why would an account be a “danger” to advertisers? I’m not really sure I understand. Unfortunately there are no “true” competitors to AdSense, your best bet is affiliate programs.
Very nicely written, Yan. I thought about this at one time when I was on one of those revenue sharing blog sites and got the first email about worries my Adsense account might be compromised. I’m a bit more diversified, but I’d hate to lose it at this juncture.
Hey Mitch
I’m a member of a few ‘underground’ forums where I sit and watch how others are capable of doing things that may jeopardize your account. Of course, I learn a few tricks to prevent their ‘mode of attack” too.. ;)
Thanks for sharing, Mitch.
Great tips.. Adsense is great, but there are many alternatives out there.
Doesn’t matter what your monetizing options are, you should be running 2-3 different ones, so that if one falls you still have other to keep money flowing in.
I could not agree more with Tom’s comment. If you are not doing anything wrong, to your clearest conscience, then you got nothing to worry about getting banned by Google.
But having those alternatives should the need arise is awesome. As they say, don’t put everything in one basket.
Thanks for your opinion, D. The worry will come later when when you’re managing a BIG portfolio of (niche) sites.
If you are not using deceptive practices to get people to click then you have nothing to fear.
We don’t need to worry getting banned by big G if we don’t commit any fault. But we should try ‘alternatives’ as another monetization method and compare them with adsense performance. Old folks always said, don’t put all eggs in one bucket.
Getting your account banned can be a drawback, but luckily there are more ways to monetize. In my opinion, in such cases, it is important to think like an entrepreneur and start designing your own product, promote and sell it.
When I saw the post title I had to click through to see what happened. I’m glad it wasn’t your account that was canceled.
My guess is that most get canceled because of click fraud. People are stupid if they think they can get away with it. I get get messages on blog catalog to click their links, I can’t believe people are stupid enough to ask for clicks in a public forum.
I can’t believe people are stupid enough to ask for clicks in a public forum.
They still do, unfortunately. They don’t quiet understand the difference between social vs organic traffic.
Anyhow, thanks for dropping by, Ned. Sorry for the late response!
Yan
Click fraud can come from people who want to sabotage your adsense income. Some people post their monthly income every month, that causes jealous or it maybe from spammer because if you trashed their comment.
Its a comfort to know there are alternative :)

Good post, though I believe it gets harder to actually make money with adsense, unless you are prepared to create a 5,000-page website/blog, or 5,000 mini-sites. I like the two CPA resources you mentioned too, and will definitely check them out.
Thanks again,
You can easily get multiple accounts – you just have to use a DBA – no problem. Of course that violates their TOS, but it is an easy way back in should you find yourself adhering to all the rules and still getting banned – and you can get approved in no time (couple of hours to a couple days) using something like DocStoc to sign up for a new account.
As for those of you who say you have nothing to worry about – I hope that you do not have all your eggs in one basket as you may have a rude awakening one day. I can guarantee that even though you think you are following big G’s rules, they can find a reason to ban you if they see fit. And what is your recourse??? Absolutely nothing! I just personally wouldn’t base paying my mortgage on adsense.
(All of the above was hypothetically speaking of course)
BTW, this is the full e-mail you do not want to receive:
Hello,
After reviewing our records, we’ve determined that your AdSense account
poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a
responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due
to invalid activity, we’ve found it necessary to disable your AdSense
account. Your outstanding balance and Google’s share of the revenue will
both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers.
Please understand that we need to take such steps to maintain the
effectiveness of Google’s advertising system, particularly the
advertiser-publisher relationship. We understand the inconvenience that
this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and
cooperation.
If you have any questions or concerns about the actions we’ve taken, how
you can appeal this decision, or invalid activity in general, you can find
more information by visiting

Hey David
Thanks for plugging extra keywords into this article. Appreciate it! Anyway, it’s the docstoc method still working? The last time I heard, it wasn’t as easy as it used to be.
Quoted:
I can guarantee that even though you think you are following big G’s rules, they can find a reason to ban you if they see fit.
Now that’s reality.
Yan
It still works fine as far as I know (use new IP and e-mail of course). If docstoc isn’t working a new one you could try is indyarocks.com and you don’t have to be from India. There will always be some new site that comes along that can help you get in if you really want to.
As we all know, if you are working with Adsense you need to be carefully because they are not joking around. I lost my adsense account a time ago , now I’m using CPA and Pinball, I thought about Adbrite , but that is full of crap
Hey Yan its been a while, as usual you have some gems to share. I will be implementing some of them shortly and give you a feedback.
To your continued success.
Dean
Hey Dean
Good to see you around, my friend. How’s everything? You’ve got a new blog?
I’m new to Google Adsense and I don’t understand much yet about it. I wonder what are the reasons for disabling accounts. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages before I get started with Google Adsense.? Is that a recommended one to use?
Thanks..
Amy
Hi, this information really helped me. I am very new in the blog world
Adsense is the no.1 Ad network in my opinion and everyone should try hard to make sure tehy don’t get banned. But some do get banned as stated in the article CPA netwroks are a great alternatives (I would recommend CPA Lead) though I think they should be coupled with an adsense style ad network such as AdBrite or Yahoo Publisher Network.
Currently CPA Lead is on auto approve (which I think is a bad move on their part) so you can get an account without worrying about getting rejected.
Make sure you read the Adsense TOS and you should be fine. but you must be sure to monitor your clicks there are some that will intentially try to get you banned by regularly clicking your links and put your earnings at risk
Well, is your account is disabled, you can reg. new account easily, just make few differences in your account info (ex. Street address etc.) And they will accept you. If we are talking about alternatives, then i suggest PPC adbrite, but they are offering really low rates per click ..
Alternatives are those objects or actions, where the choice of one excludes choosing the other. But in case of Google adsense account when disabled, is a big tension… well yet its not done to me.. but I was worried.. what if it happens..!! So I glad to know what have to do after this done.. Thanks a lot for the most important help and sharing..
Even though sometimes Google Adsense with ban websites without a good reason, they still the best PPC prgram out there. I have tried Adbrite and Chitika. Adsense pays 60-80% better than them(in my case).
CPA campaigns can generate substantial income that could easily rival Google Adsense. Currently CPA Lead is on auto approve which I think is a bad move on their part so you can get an account without worrying about getting rejected.
Good thing there’s alternative to Adsense. At least the pain would be bearable should one’s adsense account be suspended. :-)
